Dynamical mechanical properties of polyvinylbutyral nanocomposites - A comparison between different nano-carbon reinforcements

In this work, the role of degree acetalization polyvinylbutyral (PVB) on dynamic mechanical properties PVB nanocomposites was evaluated. Nanocomposites reinforced with carbon nanoparticles (pristine or oxidized multiwalled nanotubes, graphene oxide and nanoplatelets) were prepared by in situ addition during synthesis from polyvinyl alcohol. It found that presence nanoreinforcements considerably alters (AD) (ca. 65 mol% for neat polymer), which values ranged 50 to 77 mol%. Dynamic analyses used calculate storage modulus other parameters such as: factor C, entanglement adhesion factor, correlated scanning electron microscopy images. There a tendency decrease AD increase oxidation nanoreinforcements, however contributed better dispersion these polymer matrix and, consequently, altered positively nanocomposite properties.
